What We Fight For is a documentary that tells the stories of three young women forced to leave their lives in Afghanistan and Iran and who have rebuilt their lives in Europe. Three different voices intertwine to tell stories of migration, oppression, and human rights violations, but also of strength and hope for future generations. Nahid Akbari, Eli, and Sude Fazlollah, through their stories, highlight timely and fundamental themes in the narrative of human rights around the world today. From Iranian women oppressed by the Ayatollahs' regime to the denied childhoods of children in refugee camps, to migrants who have been traveling for years along routes fraught with violence, indifference, and abandonment. Three different perspectives, united by the desire to change things for those who come after them.
