When Berlinguer – La Grande Ambizione was release in Italy, the theatres were filled with young people. The director of that film, Andrea Segre, wanted to understand why. The result is a documentary that, combining meeting and conversations with behind-the-scenes images and previously unreleased scenes from the film, becomes an opportunity to listen and reflect on a historical phase in the great crisis of democratic participation.

Director's note

Takin a second look at the images that I shot during the presentation of the film, in the faces and words of the dozens of young people I filmed, I saw the deep existential emotion that arises from raising questions about the relationship between their lives and their social and political action. These tensions in the generation born between the 1990s and 2000s was very striking.
