DIRECTOR'S NOTES:
Our Mother is in first place the product born out of the desire of representing a specific visual universe, that combines simple, bucolic and archaic elements – such as flowers, nature, the sun - in a futuristic and doomsday scenario. Under the light of these premises, my question evolves around the fragile boundaries that can be found between good and evil in certain circumstances: is it right to sacrifice one person to save an entire village? In what ways is it possible to interpret such an act of apparent cruelty after having empathized in depth with the point of view of those who committed it? This is the story of a unique situation for humankind, where the cruelty of women is revealed and where the viewer is invited to understand their deepest motivations, their emotions and their survival instinct, overcoming judgement, labels and discriminations.
