BARRACUDA tells the true story of Loreta Gedvilaite, a Lithuanian émigré who, in 2019, sued her husband’s murderer for calling her a “barracuda” on national television. Demanding 3.000 Euro and a public apology, Loreta’s case became a public spectacle that ultimately ended in failure—but her fight was really about reclaiming her identity. The film follows Loreta’s desperate need to prove to the world—and herself—that she is a good woman. The courtroom becomes a stage for her internal reckoning, with witnesses and judges echoing her self-doubt and shame. Each testimony sends us back to her tumultuous past: a passionate love affair, betrayals, and her rise to fame before it all fell apart. As her case crumbles, Loreta begins to reconcile her life’s, awed but deeply human choices, made for love and family.
