A young student from Tehran takes her tormentor to court by invoking Sharia law—the law of retaliation—thus obtaining the right to pour 40 drops of sulfuric acid into the eyes of the man who disfigured her. On the day the young woman flies to Tehran to carry out the sentence, the three Italian activists who have supported her until now file an appeal with the European Court to stop her, finding themselves pitted against one another in a race against time.
