One hundred years have gone by since the birth of their patriarch Ugo: the whole Tognazzi family has gathered to bring back memories of films and friendships, while Ricky retraces the major phases of Ugo’s journey, not only as an actor but also as a father. A man capable of surprising, if not shocking, with politically incorrect externalisations. But also a man able to keep together all his loved ones, those Ugo always hoped they would all get along: really too much for just one lifetime, but that is the way it was. Ricky is determined to reconstruct his father’s career, from his early experiences into the show biz, to the international consecration. He knows everything about his father. Not only he has followed in his footsteps. Their symbiosis goes way beyond a career in the showbusiness. It’s made of irony, downplaying, linguistic shortcuts and a cheerfulness that involves the painful elaboration of karstic suffering. Like Ugo, Ricky is deeply aware one can also laugh about death. Like a proper reporter, showing clips of films that made the history of Italian cinema, Ricky interviews Pupi Avati, Aurelio De Laurentiis, Laura Delli Colli, Michele Placido, Giovanna Ralli, Emanuele Salce, Claudio Bonivento, Sandro Parenzo, Luca Barbareschi, Ornella Muti, Arturo Brachetti, Fioretta Mari, Alessandro Haber, Marco Risi, Enrico Vanzina, Benito Morelli, Andrea Fèrreol , all carried away by memories of their beloved friend and colleague Ugo.
