The sudden sound of an explosion shatters the silence of the sea. In the depths, Mario, a young naval officer, struggles underwater, wounded and desperately searching for air. His body fights against the darkness as the water surrounds him, until it finally swallows him. The following morning, Mario is found unconscious on the shore by Giovanni, a local fisherman, who takes him to his modest home to care for him. There, the young man begins a slow process of recovery, both physical and emotional, tended to by Giovanni and gently cared for by his daughter Emilia. In that house overlooking the sea, far from the noise of war, Mario finds a fragile refuge, and in Emilia, a presence capable of understanding the weight of his pain. A quiet and profound bond grows between them, made of small gestures and unspoken words. The sea, a constant and mysterious presence, accompanies the story, holding not only what has happened, but also what never had the time to exist. A story of lost love and interrupted lives, an immersion into the fragile boundary between memory, dream, and fate.
