An exploration of the artist, his generation and his musical passions through Rino's voice, a fundamental element in understanding an incredible talent that remains relevant to this day. Featuring interviews with Lucio Corsi, Dario Brunori and other well-known figures from the worlds of culture and entertainment, but also much more, such as notebooks containing drafts of some of his most memorable songs and Sergio Cammariere’s revelation about their relationship.

Director's note

I had wanted to make a documentary about Rino Gaetano for a long time. I met him in 1978, when he was on holiday at a resort where I was DJing. He asked me to play reggae records, we became friends, and he later gave me a demo of the English version of Gianna (Gina). I wanted to comprehensively recount Rino fully immersed in the events of the 1970s, to listen to him on his radio shows and at his concerts, to discover his musical passions, for Pino Daniele, Bob Marley and Jannacci, whom Rino says he saw at the Derby Club. Rino Gaetano possesses the power to capture us in a state of eternal youth, like his songs, with a knowingly bitter smile that says "Everything changes to always stay the same".
