A timeless story of injustice and love that tells us a piece of past history, too often forgotten or little known: the expulsion of the Jews from Libya, due to dramatic historical events and the rise of a dictator: Gaddafi. Through the story of a man and his family and the strength and determination of a woman, Jasmine, Giulio's wife, who manages, despite persecution and enormous obstacles, to bring her husband home safe and sound,after more than four years of unjustified imprisonment, we learn the story of many. A story that helps us understand the past and also the present. Jasmine's love and determination are the key, instead, to changing a future that seems predestined. We reconstruct, therefore, not just the story of a family, but events that changed the course of history and unfortunately design also something of our present time. Collecting interviews, photos, material from private archives and Istituto Luce Cinecittà archives, as well as some current filming, and audiovisual materials not always professional shot, we have the chance to know and experience an era and its dramatic events, so that they will never happen again, even if violence and terrible events continue to persecute the poor people all over the world.
