Between 2023 and 2025, in the Canadian province of British Columbia alone, wildfires devastated nearly 5 million hectares of land. The words and voices of Indigenous Peoples in British Columbia, caretakers of these lands, remind us of the power of memory, the urgency of caring for the environment, and the need to rediscover an ancient connection between humanity and nature. This film was made possible through the generosity, guidance, and participation of Indigenous contributors in British Columbia, including members of the Squamish Nation, the Líl’wat Nation and the St’át’imc Nation.
