Valeria leaves her home and loved ones without warning to embark on a journey through the mountains that separate her from a new world, one she doesn't know and from which she longs to escape. Her attempt to free herself from the past soon turns, however, into a search for what she has lost: desires for the future are intertwined with memories of the past, and only by facing them she can move forward.

DIRECTOR’S NOTES:
I was inspired by the experience of walking, trying to free myself from cinematic superstructures and trusting my instincts and nature. I tried to listen to it, focusing on its elements and its unpredictability. It was precisely this unpredictability that inspired the theme of the short film I developed: I compared the unpredictability of nature to the unpredictability of a person, my protagonist, who in the story decides to leave without warning and get lost in the woods. Hers is an abandonment and also a search: a search for meaning, but also for someone she herself lost years before. During her journey, the protagonist makes almost dreamlike encounters and, in an intimate and poetic dimension, wonders what her life would have been like had she taken a different path. All other possible lives intertwine between the intimacy of past memories and the fervor of future desires.
I treated the film material as a personal archive on which I wrote the story starting from the real experience of the walk and then I invented everything else based on personal suggestions.
