After years of captivity within the ranks of the LRA, Margret returns to Gulu in northern Uganda, bearing the weight of a past scarred by violence. Welcomed at the St. Monica Centre—led by Sister Rosemary Nyirumbe—she embarks on a rehabilitation journey involving work, training, and mutual support. Over time, through daily actions and relationships, Margret gradually rebuilds her independence and a new sense of self. Dwogo – Return follows her path during this period of rebuilding, a time when the war is no longer visible yet continues to inhabit her body and her relationships. With an intimate and empathetic gaze, the film chronicles this process—the everyday moments and inner transformations—capturing the complexity of a rebirth rooted in the reclaiming of dignity, work, and trust.
