Coppe in Silicone emerges from a series of intimate conversations that Ambrosia Fortuna, a director and trans person, has developed over the years with the people she considers her sisters—figures who are part of her life and with whom she shares a relationship built on trust and affection.
These are not interviews, but dialogues. Conversations recorded at different moments, before and during gender-affirmation journeys, through which experiences, memories, desires, and contradictions surrounding identity and the ways in which each person chooses to tell their own story emerge.
The film brings together different experiences of love, family, the body, transition, desire, and identity, gradually building a collective narrative in which no voice claims to speak for the others. Through listening and her own presence, the director becomes an integral part of the narrative, shaping a film about the possibility of telling one’s story in one’s own time and in one’s own words.
