Kelma (word) is a road documentary through Morocco rediscovering itself. A journey to listen to the voices of women and men on the condition of women today: abortion, child marriage, virginity, adultery. Ḥalāl what is permitted, ḥarām what is forbidden, ḥshouma what is shameful and cannot be spoken: these are the notions that govern daily life in Morocco, and within them lies the meaning of the film. From Casablanca to Rabat, from Fès to Marrakech, Kelma is the portrait of a society questioning itself, and beginning its path of change.
