Federico and Valentina have been married for years and have built their intimacy on exclusivity: they chose each other as teenagers, have a daughter, and lead an orderly life. Yet one night, during a violent storm, they find themselves in a hotel room waiting for Sofia, the woman with whom they will share their first ménage à trois. Driven by the desire to understand whether growing up together made them miss out on something, their certainties begin to falter. This uncertainty is amplified by the frankness of Sofia, a charming and unhinged student who takes the lead in the experience. What they believed to be a solid equilibrium is put to the test. The game turns into an experience that exposes

Youthful Indiscretions explores the difficulty of making choices nowadays, in a world that promises endless alternatives but does not teach how to commit to one. The film follows a couple who have chosen exclusivity and a young woman who refuses to close any doors, without stating who is right or wrong. The “threesome” thus becomes the battlefield, not the subject of the story.
The directing approach is driven by a desire to observe the characters without shielding them from themselves. The mise-en-scène is intimate and grounded, allowing awkwardness, vulnerability, and contradictions that naturally arise from the clash of these very different lives. Camera movement is minimal and always character-driven: the camera stays close, like a silent witness. The sound of the rain runs throughout the film as a constant presence, sealing off the hotel room from the outside world. The editing favors continuity and real time, avoiding rhythmic shortcuts that might ease the tension. Long takes become a way of holding the audience inside the scene, asking them to share the characters’ emotional exposure.
Youthful Indiscretions speaks to a generation raised on the idea of absolute freedom, capturing the moment when desire begins to carry the weight of romantic responsibility.
