A 45-year-old man is fired through a message via his mobile phone. He finds himself unemployed, with no opportunity to respond or defend his rights. But it is not a difficult time only for him: it is the beginning of 2020, in the midst of a global pandemic.
During this period, the year of COVID-19, the man begins to realize what is happening around him. He is struck by the escalating wave of hatred spreading among people, both on the streets and across the web. Confined to his home due to government restrictions, he embarks on a profound reflection about how he might help reverse this trend and support others.
Once the lockdown ends, he starts going out more often, observing the world around him and comparing the beauty and the ugliness he encounters.
Thus begins the Explorer’s journey, both inward and outward, as he travels from the north to the south of the Italian peninsula. He wonders what a modern-day knight could do to make a difference.
With Artificial Intelligence increasingly knocking at humanity’s door, he decides to create one AI that can help achieve his goal: improving relationships between people around the world and teaching fundamental values to those who lack them and whose actions endanger the well-being of others.
Yet even with the best intentions, venturing into uncharted territory can lead to mistakes and unintended harm. Will the Explorer succeed in becoming the noble knight, without blemish and without fear, that the world so desperately needs?

DIRECTOR'S NOTES:
I chose to make this film with the aim of raising Greater awareness about issues such as racism, bullying, pollution, and many other problems affecting modern society. I firmly believe that life can be improved through small everyday actions, and that we all have a responsibility to improve ourselves and promote positive values.
The protagonist of the film offers a profound reflection on these themes, contrasting them with the beauty that surrounds us, without necessarily having to leave one’s own city in search of something meaningful elsewhere. His primary focus is how to develop and utilize artificial intelligence for the collective good. However, he must proceed with great caution, as even the best intentions can lead to mistakes when exploring unknown territory.
To make a change, one must truly desire it. My hope is that this reflection may, in some way, encourage people to work together more closely and support one another.
