A Freedom route is a historical documentary that traces, through biographical accounts, the personal and political journeys of several anti-fascist fighters from Spain. A journey that unfolds through the places where the events took place, with the political exile colony of Ventotene as its focal point, where internationalists with experience from the Spanish Civil War brought new ideas and practices and turned this small Mediterranean island into a central crossroads in the events that were fundamental to the Resistance and the birth of the idea of Europe.
