Twenty-five years after the sudden death of his father, the conductor Giuseppe Sinopoli, Giovanni embarks on an intimate journey to discover the man behind the public figure. In his own voice, and through family footage, archival materials and interviews with family members, musicians and artists who knew him, the documentary reconstructs a dialogue that never took place between father and son, exploring Sinopoli’s cultural legacy and the role of classical music today, especially for the younger generations.

Director's Statement

In the attempt to rediscover my father and establish a dialogue with him beyond his absence, I sought answers in places, in music, in memories and in his passions: medicine, music and archaeology, which he defined as “three different ways to explore the hearts of men”.
