On December 1st 2024, during the Fiorentina-Inter football game, Edoardo Bove, one of the brightest prospects of Italian football, suddenly collapsed on the pitch. For a few seconds, time stood still: for him, for those beside him, for the millions of people who watched that scene in dismay. This was the beginning of a deep fracture, not just physical but existential. This documentary shadows Edoardo in the months that followed that event, accompanying him on an intimate and unpredictable journey. For the first time in his life, a path that seemed carved in stone was interrupted. The future is an unknown territory: will he play again? Will he be able to play in Italy? And above all, who is Edoardo above and beyond football?

Director's Statement

About two years ago, Edoardo Leo asked me to make a film about Edoardo Bove. My first reaction was: that’s not my kind of story, I don’t know anything about football. I asked him for a week’s time, to understand. I only needed three days. To understand that I would do it and that it wouldn’t be a classic film about football.
