Behind every door a different room of life. A pregnancy to protect, another to end, a confused adolescent, a disoriented mother. At the family planning clinic, they are listened to. Each and every one. Anywoman is a documentary of radical observation that for the first time offers un-precedented access inside the family planning clinic of the Policlinico di Milano, a place where rights are the faces, bodies and daily decisions of the doctors who represent this essential pub-lic service. Moving freely across ages and timelines within a single space, the film explores the doubts, fear, courage, laughter and experience of women and young girls.
Director's Statement
The family planning clinic of the Policlinico di Milano occupies a three-story building on a nar-row street. The space inside is tight too. Why did we choose to step into these rooms? Because is it important, essential to us to even enter the most complicated, least resolved rooms, where entering means questioning oneself, and asking questions.
