Argentina, 1978: the country is governed by military forces. Maria teaches the inhabitants of a shanty town how to read and write. She lives with Diane, her mother, in a big house where flats are rented to single men.
One morning, a platoon take her away and imprison her in Garage Olimpo, one of the three-hundreds’ underground concentration camps that were put up in the city at the time.
Felix is one of the officers who interrogate Maria – he’s also one of the tenants at Maria’s house. He tries to save her life by pretending she’s cooperating whan faced by his superiors.
But Tigre, leader of the camp, is killed in an ambush and Maria is transferred. “Transferred”, in military terms, meant dead.
Records show that there have been 30.000 “transferred” or desaparecidos.
Marco Bechis himself was victim of tortures and prison in 1977.
