Pericle Caruso (Vincenzo Salemme) finds himself confined to a wheelchair after an operation goes wrong and decides to sue the doctor who operated on him in France. It is high summer when Percile, accompanied by his nurse SIlvia (Sabrina Ferrilli) and Mario,a friend of his who also happens to be an orthopedic surgeon (Carlo Buccirosso), goes to France. It is hot and they are at the seaside so Pericle is eager to visit the local beach. However, a man in a wheelchair still presents both a bit of a problem and something of an embarassment for many people. Pericle does not care, he has an authentic passion for life and love and has no hesitation in turning the seemingly staid life of Mario upside down once he discovers that Mario has a mistress (Manuela ARcuri) who also happens to be married to Mario's boss, Dr Volpetti. Pericle also wastes no time in courting the lovely Silvia. The film ends with a surprise and is a comedy that manages to put a difficult point across about the hardships that handicapped people encounter without ever degenerating into pathos.
