Fortezza Bastiani is what a group of university students call the the flat they share in central Bologna. Queen Mary and Milla hope to become teachers, Benna is nearing the end of a law degree, Pedro is from Argentina and an actor while the fifth character is the forever absent, Marchigiano.
The film begins with the arrival on the scene of Napoleon and Rubin and explores the dynamics of this group of people.
