Guido, a Milanese gambler up to his ears in debt, decides to fake a kidnapping to pay off the money he owes. His young girlfriend, Antonella, helps him. However, everything goes wrong and Guido is arrested while Antonella gets away with the ransom. Two and a half year later, Guido is about to be released from prison when two prisoners in for life, Fatih and Hamid, enlist his help for an escape. Hamid quickly abandons the other two once they are on the outside, leaving Guido with the elderly Fatih who clings to him like a lifesaver. When he finally finds Antonella, Guido has a big surprise but the story is far from over...
