The film is about the life of two young boys who live in Torbellamonaca in Rome, seen through two holidays: August 15 and Christmas Eve. The “Bove” is 23, sturdy, a “pretty boy” who is apparently street wise in life and with women. The “Pechino” is his exact opposite: 18, skinny, still an adolescent and insecure, but forced to take account of his life. The two find themselves face to face with people who are different in age, culture and social background. But in spite of these differences, the “Bove” and the “Pechino” manage to unwittingly act as intermediaries between a grandmother and her nephew (on August 15) and between a mother and her baby girl (on Christmas Eve).
And as a result, all the differences melt away and even the gulf in the big city, between the centre and the suburbs seems to be bridged.
