In the Fifites the two brothers Carmelo and Salvatore La Marca, owners of a rundown Sicilian production company, decide to produce, pressured by a Cardinal, an ambitious film: “The Return of Cagliostro”. To ensure its success they hire an American film star with a glorious past, Errol Douglas, a former celebrity who tries to rebuild his career by accepting this role. As soon as he reaches Sicily though, Errol Douglas discovers he has to face an incompetent film director, amateur actors and the working of the film continuously delayed by grotesque and paradoxical situations. To finish the film, the two siblings become involved in shady mafia dealings that will end up ruining everybody and everything.
