Mario is a sullen, disillusioned young man who dreams of meeting up with his uncle in America to be a talent scout for rock groups. In order to scrape enough money together, he takes a job as a plumber at a second-rate residential hotel, the Cormorano, run by Nevio, a cynical cheat. The residents of the Cormorano include eccentric professors and tourists, old evicted tenants and general guardians, drunks in particular and the unlucky in general. Gabriella, the new director, in addition to being Nevio’s lover, taunts the sexual fantasies of the vacationers and the staff .Gaia, the maid, is a tomboy with whom Mario clashes from day one.
But one beautiful day, Piero, the uncle from America, arrives at the Cormorano...
