In 1950, there were 15,000 people living in Caulonia. Today there are just a few hundred people left. On the walls there are funeral announcements saying that in some city – Milan, Melbourne, Le Havre, Adelaide – someone has died, who was born in this town. “Il dono” is the story all of those who left, told by those who stayed behind: the tale of all the stories that couldn’t happen.
