In August 1936, as the Spanish Civil War starts, Joaquin, a young goatherd who lives alone in the countryside, comes across a man who has been badly wounded by a gun shot to the side of the head: the man has been left for dead after an execution by Franco’s troops. Joaquin hides and cures the man who wakes up an amnesiac - having forgotten his own identity. Much later, in 1980, the goatherd crosses the man’s path again: now he is an old man who goes along the streets of Granada delivering charity… By pure chance his memory is revived and Joaquin gradually discovers that - in all probability - the man is the poet Federico García Lorca.
