The city of Saint Petersburg was founded in 1703 by Peter the Great and built with urban criteria unlike any other Russian city.
The original city planning was the result of the work of western city planners and architects. Saint Petersburg hasn’t changed much until the 1917 revolution, which determined a redistribution of the citizens within their social and residential context.
