A large-scale grass-roots opposition movement against government policy was recently formed in Italy, based on the defence of the magistrature. This film describes the context of its birth and the ups and downs of its development around the figure of Nanni Moretti, who came to be its leader almost by accident. This movement, known as “il movimento dei girotondi” (“the rings movement”), has no partisan allegiance, and presents new forms of practical resistance against the instruments of power.
