A journey through Italian cinema from the end of the ‘50 until now, five generations of film directors, from Risi to Monicelli, Bellocchio, Bertolucci and Taviani; from Moretti to Salvatores; from Virzì to Giordana, to Muccino and the last thirty-years-old generation: Marra, Mereu, Sorrentino, Pellegrini, Porporati, interviewed by the author along an historical itinerary which goes through past and present memory. How, from one generation to another, from film to film, the “feeling” of being thirty and the relationship among many thirty-years-old people and their time changes.
