Judith and Paul are two street clowns born in Germany, emigrated when they were young in a small town in Tuscany where they have been performing in the most surprising places with amusing theatrical performances based on European literature.
During the rehearsal of their new sketch set in a bathtub, Judith and Paul are not on the same wavelenght. The reason seems to be the disagreement on a joke within the exhibition but, behind this trivial reason, lies a far more relevant cause: the uneasiness of Erna, their only daughter, tired of her humble life. Aware of his unstoppable intransigence towards her parents, Erna consults, secretly, a psychologist who will influence the dynamics of the family. When Judith and Paul will discover separately two different and troubling secrets of Erna, their artistic relationship will be jeopardized.
