“The child who fades away” is a short no-profit narrative drama that aims to shed light on DIPG (diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma), a rare type of brain cancer that affects children almost exclusively. A regular couple has to deal with the harsh news that their only child, 7 years old Sarah, has a tumour in her brain and the chances of survival are very slim. An intimate glimpse into the world of this family allows audiences to explore their own feelings as Sarah shares with them memories from her lifetime, from childhood to adulthood. The short film touches on true and deep love, the courage of letting go, anger, hope and grief.
