SoloMetro is a comedy that interweaves stories of day-to-day life in Rome. As if they were pieces in a chess match, a series of characters, each with his or her own story, meet by chance, destiny or sheer coincidence: Carla, the cynical prostitute; Andrea, the promising screenwriter; Enrico, the crass nouveau riche type; Elvira, the woman betrayed; all of them set against backdrop of young people searching for happiness. All of them, in one or another, alone. SoloMetro tells their stories from “the inside”, becoming a part of their lives, though it also describes them “from above”, through the words of an ironic, world-weary narrator who gleefully pulls the strings of their lives, at times setting dangerous traps.
