Vogliamo anche le rose tells the story of profound change that took place in Italy with the sexual revolution and feminist movement around the time between the sixties and seventies. The film wants to talk about and show the events in recent history where women were the protagonists, as seen through a woman’s point of view. An ensemble of voices each talking about their own personal experiences, the film shows archive footage taken from very different sources: institutional, militant and private. These are true stories taken from the diaries of three young women who give their most intimate and personal reasons behind this social revolution, from the awareness of the female condition to the question of male supremacy leading to a radical re-examination of the male and female relationship.
