The extreme neighbourhood of Rome. Carla, fifty, fat and careless, lives with Antonio, too young to be Carla's mate and the father of the pre-adolescent Carla's child. And he's too attractive, so attractive that he's trying to become an actor. It's a dumb, gloomy, almost as paralyzed atmosphere, that will be shaken by a doomed event: Antonio meets a young and pretty woman.
