Born in Turin at the beginning of the 20th century, Rol became famous for his extraordinary and inexplicable gifts: he could transform matter, see in faraway places, predict the future and read people’s thoughts. He was called a sorcerer, clairvoyant, esoteric and miracle man – labels that Rol categorically refuted because he felt that these powers were innate in man. A blend of biography, reportage and reconstruction, the documentary leads the viewer into the heart of what Rol’s life and thoughts meant for all those who came into contact with him, to pose the – still unanswerable – question on the true nature of his gifts.
