The film tells the story of an amateur theatrical group whose members work by day and then meet in the evening in a small theatre, where they have been putting on their plays for years. Suddenly, due to a series of unfortunate events, our heroes risk losing their theatre. Some of them are also faced with the prospect of losing: a love, a wife, their health, their jobs. During the haphazard “premiere” of one of their latest production ( “Cavalleria Rusticana”), all their problems will be tackled and miraculously solved in a series of plot twists, cliff-hangers and, at the finale, thunderous applause for everyone.
