What’s left of a man, after death has taken him away? The face of a ghost wanders through the many old photographs, in search of his identity. He discovers that he was part of the “conquest of the desert,” the colonization of Argentina’s Chaco.
“Resistencia is entirely based on material from a private archive composed of roughly two thousand photos that my great-uncle took between the 1930s and 1960s. Through his personal memories, I tried to tell a collective story of the city called Resistencia (Chaco, Argentina), that became a colony of Italian immigrants in indigenous land.”
