In a world where the yawning gap between rich and poor is now a tragic fact of life, two existential conditions exist side by side: the need to survive poverty at any price, and being desperate enough to pay that price in order to ensure one's survival. For many people, however, that sum of money which promises to solve's one's problems often amounts to nothing more than a fleeting illusion. Life doesn't change and desperation grows. Roberto Orazi turns the camera on the lives of some of those involved in the scourge of the global traffic in human organs: lives united by a momentary hope and separated by that abstract yet insurmountable border called the North-South divide.
