In moré, the language spoken in Burkina Faso, the term “bakroman” means “street child.” There are over six hundred children living on the streets of Ouagadougou, the capital of the country, without anything to eat or a place to sleep. And yet, to defend their rights and nurture their hopes, they have united in a sort of union which seems to give strength to the possibility that, one day, they will leave this condition behind.
