From the ruins of the Circus Maximus in Rome to those of the Rione Terra in Pozzuoli, passing by way of the capital’s suburbs, Enrico Ghezzi encounters the cinema of Isabella Sandri and Giuseppe Gaudino. The “burning fields,” where Guadino made Round the Moons Between Earth and Sea in 1977, bear witness to the tenacity of those who follow dreams which are as ephemeral as images in motion, opposing the decline of Italian cinema, which lacks every possible horizon.
