Ritals is the story of a family that emigrated in the 60s from the deep south of Italy on the suburbs of Paris. She was leaved only for a couple of years, but she ends to stay there for a life, or nearly so.
Ritals is the vision of a different world, the charm of a new culture as opposed to the original culture, the desire to integrate but also the urgency to return, the injuries incurred, but also those of the protagonists.
The film is a biographical journey, an intimate look at a life-story and a history of emigration both common and emblematic, a story told from the inside, full of photos and Super8 films and music that deliberately enhance stereotypes.
