Roman (Alessandro Gassman) is a Romanian immigrant who came to Italy more than 30 years ago. He is barely scraping by and can’t extricate himself from the vicious cycle of drug dealing, and the thugs he thinks are his friends. But Roman has a dream which he’s not willing to give up for anything in the world: to provide his son Nicu (Giovanni Anzaldo), who he’s raised without a mother, a chance at a better life. But can a boy who since his first breath has been subjected to the edge of the knife existence of his father’s life truly desire something different? Based on the play “Cuba and his Teddy Bear” by Reinaldo Povod, a provocative directorial debut for Alessandro Gassman.
