Over a speech given by Berlinguer in Turin in 1981 run images of huge crowds, excerpts from amateur films and faces whose future prospects are unknown to us. That voice, which speaks of the pursuit of happiness and the question of morality, has the force and the authority of a politics so remote from what we are familiar with today that we find it touching and distressing.
