Massimo and Giulia come from completely different paths of life.
But when they meet, it’s love at first sight. There is only one problem:
the looming prospect of Christmas. They decide to visit their
respective families and celebrate the holiday together, with
tragicomic results. Will their love survive Christmas?
DIRECTOR'S NOTES:
Ogni maledetto Natale (‘every damn Christmas’) is a romantic
comedy and a satire, written and directed with the kind of freedom
we have when grappling with a bigger, wider issue. And when we
completely flip it over. Christmas should be a time of harmony, peace,
family cohesion; but here it’s an anthropological nightmare: it’s the
source of all that unease from the time, a stressful holiday that tires
people out since the dawn of time. […] So we got the greatest thing
in the world, a young couple truly in love full of hope, and we pitted
them against Christmas. This is the movie’s central question: can
love survive Christmas?
