Federico Fellini is the most famous filmmaker in the world. What few people know about Federico is that he had a brother, Riccardo, who was also a director. What nobody knows and has never been explored is the complicated relationship that united and divided them throughout their lifetime. A story that exposes unfamiliar and unexpected aspects of Federico’s inner life, de facto revealing a different Fellini.
Director’s statement
Riccardo Fellini is a figure who is
almost totally unknown to the public, whose human and
professional story has yet to be told. We came across his story
by chance and were mesmerized by a personality forced to
submit to an impossible comparison with his brilliant brother.
We were thunderstruck by the pages of the book of dreams in
which Riccardo appeared. We were surprised to realize to what
degree Federico’s dreams were obsessed by the shadow cast by
his brother, and stunned at the violence of his reactions.
