“We talk about the concept of cinema that drove our directors (including Lamberto Bava, Ruggero Deodato, Sergio Leone) to make films that Italian critics ignored, but that a director such as Tarantino considers fundamental for his own development”. A documentary that describes a film phenomenon that is as underestimated as it is important, letting the protagonists speak for themselves: the Tarantinians.
Director’s statement
Tarantino’s love for popular Italian
films was the most important critical shift in recent years. But
his love for our popular cinema went even further. Confirming
his opinion of the inventive power of these films, he borrowed
linguistic and narrative elements from them which he used in
all the most successful films he directed.
