Giulio Questi became a Surrealist on the battlefields of WWII, fighting for three years with the partisans. In his cinema, Questi wrestled with the terrifying sights and sounds of those days - till the end, when he re-invented himself as an outsider artist! In this, his final masterpiece, he yearns for a maiden he met in the 1960s when making a Mondo movie.
